Report: Carbon Cliff-Barstow School District spent $12,758 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Carbon Cliff-Barstow School District 36 was up 25.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Rock Island Today analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Rock Island County school district spent $10,181 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,758 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 304 to 268 students over the same period.

Carbon Cliff-Barstow's spending in 2019-20 was 12 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
