Analysis: United administrators rank 220th in state for average pay

Administrators in United Township High School District 30 earn an average of $115,509 per year, ranking 220th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a Rock Island Today analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 14 percent higher than in 2016 and 6.1 percent higher than in 2011. District administrators make 3.8 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The United School District in Rock Island County enrolled 1705 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 164 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
