Deere & Company is sponsoring the first class of IGNITE to introduce high school students and adult learners to Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 skills, careers and the many opportunities available to them. Registration is now open and seats are limited.
Offered by Black Hawk College, this new, multi-module program enables high school and adult learners to develop critical foundational skills in advanced manufacturing and Industry 4.0. Participants engage with IGNITE through highly interactive, multimedia and hands-on simulations to develop a clear understanding of careers in advanced manufacturing, build their skills and apply their new knowledge through project-based learning activities. Local businesses will also provide work-based learning activities that will assist participants in learning about industry opportunities.
IGNITE is a program developed by the Department of Defense and Amatrol to address future workforce needs, an issue of concern by businesses throughout our region. It provides a foundation for advanced manufacturing for students, adult learners and current workers interested in the field and allows them to try it and find out if they like it, and if so, lays out a career path they can follow.
Interested participants and businesses are invited to tour the lab and see the equipment during these open house events in Building 2, Room 111 on the BHC campus:
