A memorial service for Donald K. Hamilton, retired assistant dean of the Western Illinois University College of Education and Human Services, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at the First Presbyterian Church in Macomb.
Hamilton passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, in Macomb.
He was hired at WIU in September 1963, and retired in 1991. Hamilton is also a professor emeritus from COEHS.
Hamilton received his bachelor's and master's degrees from WIU and his doctoral degree at Indiana University. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, he returned to WIU as a professor at the University's Lab School, then moved into WIU's Department of Education.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; children, Ada, Debbie, Ted, Tiger and Amy; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
