Rock Island County's two universities invested $566,970 on their basketball teams in 2023, a 7.6% decrease from the previous year, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

The county’s funding for the basketball teams comprised 10.3% of all money invested in sports teams in 2023.

The average sports expenses in Rock Island County have grown 43.9% since 2010.

Augustana College stood out as the university in Rock Island County that received the most basketball funding during 2023. The institution received $426,338 - or 75.2% of all the money destined to basketball teams.
