FOIA Request to Moline City Council Regarding Detailed Information of All Council Members on October 15, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Rock Island Today have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to the Moline City Council.
Our request seeks a list of all council members with specific details including their names, titles, years appointed, term lengths (2 or 4 years), and term expiry dates. This information is crucial for us to continue our mission in holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the public.
We believe that access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have requested a fee waiver for this information as per standard protocol.
