Rock Island County Governance, Health, and Administration Committee met May 12.

Chairwoman Enburg called the Governance, Health & Administration to order at 10:00am

1. Roll Call: Carla Enburg, Johnnie Woods, Drue Mielke, Enyo Dewith, Porter McNeil Member Absent: Melissa Moreno Baker

Also present: Richard Brunk, Bridgette Edgeworth, Captain Mindy Meyers, Derrick Hendrickx, April Palmer, Karen Kinney, Kurt Davis, Jacob Mellinger, Ellen Anderson, Jim Grafton, Jim Nelson, Jared VanTieghem

4. Reports to Committee

County Auditor April Palmer reported that all should have received her monthly report via e-mail. Auditor palmer informed the Committee that Baker Tilly will be presenting the Audit at this months County Board Meeting and she introduced Internal Auditor Ellen Anderson from her Office and explained that she will be attending more GH&A meetings so she can become familiar with items on the agendas.

County Clerk Karen Kinney reported an increase in requests for records due to the rush for “Real ID’s”. Clerk Kinney noted that in the most recent election there were a couple of write in candidates and they have been very busy making sure all counts are correct.

University of Illinois Extension representative Kayla Lousher gave updates that were going on in Rock Island County. Nutrition information, exercise for summer programs. And gift growers project

County Treasurer Nick Camlin reported on Tax Bill mailings and tax values, and the County Investment Policy

11 Review of Pending/Proposed legislation affecting Rock Island County

Porter McNeil updated the committee on the Rock Island County Resolution in Support of Rail service between the Quad Cities and Chicago.

12 Closed Session: Porter McNeil made a motion to go into Closed Session for the Semi-Annual Review of Closed Session Minutes as allowed in 5 ILCS 120/2(c) (2) Discussion of minutes lawfully closed under this act, whether for the purpose of approval by the body or semi-annual revives as mandated by section 2.06 Seconded by Enyo Dewith.
