City of Moline Special Events Committee met July 23.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

1. Approval of the May 22, 2025 Meeting Minutes

2. Consideration of a Special Event Application for The John Deere Shake Out Run, that is planned to begin at the John Deere Pavilion head east on the bike path, toward the I-74 bridge (under) and then turn around and head back to the John Deere Pavilion. This event is scheduled to be held Friday, July 25, 2025 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (this includes set-up and clean-up time). Supporting information and special consideration requests are detailed in the Special Event Application.

3. Consideration of a Special Event Application from Tudi’s Tribe for the Gabe’s Gift Memorial 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run Walk, that is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, 2025. This event requires temporary partial closure for northbound traffic on 53rd Street from Jane Adams Middle School to 34th Avenue, along with the eastbound lane of 34th Avenue to the Pyesa N/Whirling Thunder entrance at Black Hawk College between the hours of 5:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (this includes set-up and clean-up time). Supporting information and special consideration requests are detailed in the Special Event Application.

4. Consideration of a Special Event Application from Two Rivers YMCA for the Sprint the Miss event, that is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2025. This event requires the use of Ben Butterworth Parkway, Ralph Birks Recreational Trail and City-owned parking lots between the hours of Friday, September 19, 2025 from 7:00 p.m. to Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Supporting information and special consideration requests are detailed in the Special Event Application.

5. Consideration of a Special Event Application from St. Mary’s Church for the Parish Carnival event, that is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2025. This event requires the full temporary closure of 11th Street between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue between Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. through Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 9:00 p.m. (this includes set-up and clean-up time). Supporting information and special consideration requests are detailed in the Special Event Application.

6. Consideration of a Special Event Application from Renew Moline for the Holiday Hop event, that is scheduled for Friday, November 14, 2025 and Saturday, November 15, 2025. This event does not require closure of any right of way however the trolley route may require signage and the Historic Block Courtyard will be used for the event. The event takes place Friday, November 14, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. through Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. (this includes set-up and clean-up time). Supporting information and special consideration requests are detailed in the Special Event Application.

7. Consideration of a Special Event Application for the Project of the Quad Cities to reserve the date of Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 5:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. for the Pride 5K and Pride Party at Bass Street Landing event. Due to the Arsenal bridge reconstruction, the routes are to be determined. Supporting information and special consideration requests are detailed in the Special Event Application.
