City of East Moline Special Service Area Committee met June 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Roll Call – Carol Curry, Patricia Hansen, Vickie Hughes, John Stopoulos, Larry Anderson, Michelle Horton (phone) Absent: Joe Perez, Lyndsay Smith

City: Mark Rothert, Tim Wymes

Approval of Minutes – A motion from Carol with a second from John minutes are approved as written.

Guest – None

Financial Report – Presented by Mark. A motion to approve the financials made by John, second from Patricia. Financials approved as presented.

Façade/ Fencing Grant Applications – Nothing new to present.

Bills – Respect Abilities second half of the year was presented. A motion by Patricia, seconded by Carol, is that Bill is to be paid.

Directors Report – None given.

Flower Report – Getting Respect Abilities licensed to spray weed killer, the information was sent to Michelle.

Main Street Report – Met with Annisa and working on potentially 6 grants between Patricia and

Annisa. Shade Sails repaired and backup. Patricia is working on the committee for the Americana event and the Car Show, coinciding with that event. Patricia mentioned a person setting up house in the back part of the stage at Runners’ Park and the need to get cameras installed.

RAISE Grant – Preconstruction meeting is set for July 2nd, still hoping to get from 6th through 9th streets done this construction season.

Runners’ Park – Nothing to report currently.

SSA Future Goals, Budget, etc. – Larry discussed putting the entire SSA budget into the maintenance of the new streetscape. More discussions to follow.

New Business – Vickie presented an opportunity for small businesses to offer or assist their employees with an insurance option. More information is coming soon.

Old Business – Building maintenance is a constant battle, and Tim is addressing things as quickly as he can. The system just works slowly, but things are being addressed.
