NEW BUSINESS

1. Acceptance of Resignation of Officer David Corso (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)

Explanation: Police Officer David Corso submitted his notice of resignation, effective immediately on July 22, 2025, following 11 months of service.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends acceptance of the resignation of Police Officer Corso, effective July 22, 2025.

2. Approval of Requests to Fill Vacancy (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)

Explanation: Due to the resignation of Police Officer Corso, a vacancy has been created within the department. Attachment: No

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval to fill the vacancy with one new Police Officer.

3. Probationary Appointment of Police Officer (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)

Explanation: Marquis Smith (the number three candidate) on the Police Officer Eligibility Register published on May 13, 2025, has successfully completed all pre-employment requirements.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the probationary appointment of Police Officer Marquis Smith, effective August 13, 2025.

4. Probationary Appointment of Police Officer (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)

Explanation: Tyler Petersen (the number one candidate) on the Police Officer Eligibility Register has successfully completed all pre-employment requirements.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the probationary appointment of Police Officer Tyler Petersen, effective August 25, 2025.

5. Probationary Appointment of Police Officer (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)

Explanation: Stephanie Haynie (the number three candidate) on the Police Officer Eligibility Register published July 8, 2025, has successfully completed all pre-employment requirements.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the probationary appointment of Police Officer Stephanie Haynie, effective August 25, 2025.

6. Probationary Appointment of Police Officer (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)

Explanation: Berandt Melow (the number five candidate) on the Police Officer Eligibility Register has successfully completed all pre-employment requirements.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the probationary appointment of Police Officer Berandt Melow, effective August 25, 2025.

7. Disqualification/Refusal to Examine Applicant Dakota Meyer (Darren Gault, Chief of Police) 

Explanation: Dakota Meyer has applied for the position of police officer and has prior law enforcement experience. A review of his ILETSB Professional Conduct Report shows unsatisfactory character and employment references. Under Chapter II, Section 3(k) of the Board’s Rules and Regulations, the Board may refuse to examine a candidate on these grounds.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Board refuse further examination of Dakota Meyer.

8. Full-time Appointment of Firefighter/Paramedic (Steve Regenwether, Fire Chief) Explanation: Levi Schilling has successfully completed his probationary period as a Firefighter/Paramedic effective July 14, 2025.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the full-time appointment of Firefighter/Paramedic Levi Schilling, effective July 14, 2025.

9. Removal of Candidate from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register (Steven Regenwether, Fire Chief) 

Explanation: Jeremy Hudson (the number seven candidate) on the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register has been non-responsive to all communication.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the removal of Jeremy Hudson from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register.

10. Removal of Candidate from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register (Steven Regenwether, Fire Chief) 

Explanation: Andrew Ledford (the number thirty-one candidate) on the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register has been non-responsive to all communication.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the removal of Andrew Ledford from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register.

11. Removal of Candidate from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register (Steven Regenwether, Fire Chief) 

Explanation: Tyler Houzenga (the number thirty-two candidate) on the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register has been non-responsive to all communication.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the removal of Tyler Houzenga from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register.

12. Removal of Candidate from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register (Steven Regenwether, Fire Chief) 

Explanation: Grace Moore (the number forty-four candidate) on the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register has been non-responsive to all communication.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the removal of Grace Moore from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register.

13. Removal of Candidate from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register (Steven Regenwether, Fire Chief)

Explanation: Mason Potter (the number forty-five candidate) on the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register has been non-responsive to all communication.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the removal of Mason Potter from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register.

14. Removal of Candidate from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register (Steven Regenwether, Fire Chief)

Explanation: Brenden Johnson (the number thirty-six candidate) on the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register has requested to be removed from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the removal of Brenden Johnson from the Firefighter Paramedic Eligibility Register.
