Illinois State Senator Neil Anderson has issued a statement following the assassination of Charlie Kirk. In his remarks, Anderson expressed his sorrow over the incident and highlighted Kirk’s influence in conservative circles.
“I am devastated by the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Charlie was a bold voice for conservative values, faith, freedom, and America’s founding principles, always engaging in thoughtful dialogue, even with those who disagreed with him.
“This cowardly act of violence must be met with swift and decisive justice. Violence has no place in our political discourse, and we must unite as a nation to condemn this brutality.
“My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, and loved ones. Violence will never silence the truth.”
Anderson is a Republican who was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 2023 to represent the 47th Senate District. He succeeded Jil Tracy in this role.
