Moline will meet tomorrow to finalize the Verizon lease.
The Moline City Council is expected to make a final vote on authorizing a lease agreement with Verizon that would permit the company to set up equipment on the water tower on 15th Avenue.
The first term of the lease would run for five years and would net the city $14,400 during the first year, with a three percent increase each of the following years. After the first five years, Verizon would be able to renew the agreement for up to three additional five-year cycles, structured the same way.
The council discussed the issue at its previous meeting on Feb. 23.
If passed, the lease agreement would provide additional revenue to the city's water fund.
The council will also vote on offering a one-year lease to Action Valley Paintball LLC for operations a public paintball course in Green Valley Park.
Also on the table is a $103,000 design services contract with Shive-Hattery Inc., who would design the water, sewer and stormwater systems for the new multimodal transit center.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Moline City Hall is located at 619 16th St.
