Moline Park and Recreation Board to meet, discuss agenda items

The City of Moline Park and Recreation Board will meet at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, July 28.

"The Moline Parks and Recreation Department is governed by the Moline Park Board, as appointed by the Mayor with advice and consent of the City Council. The department oversees more than 900 acres of land in Moline."

NON-CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS

1. Ben Butterworth Parking Lots 2823, 3201, and 3301. (Lori Wilson, Parks Recreation Director)

Explanation: Western Illinois University students are parking in Ben Butterworth Parking Lots 2823, 3201 and 3301for extended lengths of time causing little to no parking for residents using the park and trail.

Attachment: Yes

Staff Recommendation: Staff is seeking Park Board approval to post signage to permit parking to 1 or 2 hour limits for trail and park use only. Monday –Friday 8am to 5pm. No overnight parking. Signage would be place in each of the three lots.

Fiscal Impact: N/A

2. Quad Cities Skyraiders Shade Structure. (Lori Wilson, Parks Recreation Director)

Explanation: The QC Skyraiders have requested permission to install a shade structure at the radio control airplane field at Old Green Valley Park. A simple frame will be constructed and a shade tarp will be put up during the summer/flying season. The frame will stay in place throughout the year.

The area under the shade structure will remain as turf grass.
