Rock Island Milan School District accepts donations

The Rock Island Milan School District #41 Board of Education met Oct. 25 to accept donations.

Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the board:

"The Rock Island-Milan Board of Education consists of seven community members chosen by school district voters on a non-partisan ballot. Board members are volunteers receive no compensation for their service."

C. Approval of Board of Education Minutes... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the minutes of the regular meeting of September 27, 2016 including executive session minutes to remain confidential.

II. Special Item

Special Funds from the Royal Ball Run... Information

Ms. Anne Holtan from the Royal Ball Run will present special funds to Rock Island High School teacher Lisa Martens and Washington Jr. High School teachers Elizabeth Wayne for use in their Functional Programs.

III. Reports

A. Requests from persons wishing to speak on certain agenda items will be called upon at the appropriate time.

A. New Board Policy Exhibit – Board Member Mentoring... Information

Dr. Oberhaus will present a draft of Board Policy 2:120-E2 Board Member Mentoring.

B. Review of Executive Session Minutes... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the Executive Session Minutes recommendation as presented in the background material.

C. October Fund Raiser Requests... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the October Fund Raiser requests.

VIII. Business/Finance

A. Preliminary 2015-16 Audit Report... Information

Representatives from Bohnsack will present the preliminary results of the 2015-16 Audit.

B. Heat Pump Repair at Rock Island Center for Math and Science... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the low bid submitted by Ryan & Associates, Davenport, IA in the amount of $28,613.00 for heat pump repair at Rock Island Center for Math and Science.

C. Business Analytics Software License... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve a one year software license agreement for eduCLIMBER with Maryn Solutions, Wisconsin at a cost of $32,765.00.

D. List of Donations... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the list of donations.

E. Bills for Payment... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education authorize Bills for Payment dated September 30, 2016 in the amount of $3,460,361.98 and October 14, 2016 in the amount of $2,537,216.73.

IX. Personnel

A. Certified Appointments... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the certified appointments of Stacy Rohwer and Stephanie Upton.

B. Certified Leave of Absence... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the certified leave of absence for Terry Taylor.

C. Non-Certified Appointments... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the non-certified appointments of Dana Johnson, Steven Jennings, Amanda Manning and

Joseph Cooksey.

D. Non-Certified Termination... Action

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the non-certified termination of employee #6-1-1104.

X. Work Session

Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) Resolutions... Information Board members will review the IASB Resolutions to be considered at the Triple I Conference November 18-20, 2016.

XI. Executive Session

It is recommended that the Board of Education move to executive session to discuss negotiations and the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c) (1). Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c) (2).
