DATA DASHBOARD PRESENTATION
Matt DeBaene, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, presented the Board with an update of Data Dashboard. Mr. DeBaene stated due to changes in State assessments, the Data Dashboard will dramatically change in the 2017-2018 school year. Success indicators are currently aligned to District priorities that are "insulated” from state and federal shifts.
The State of Illinois previously adopted the American College Testing (ACT) as well as the National College and Career Readiness (NCCR) in Illinois. With ESSA, Illinois is looking to change a portion of the college readiness indicators to say "Students are College Ready if they meet either the academic AND standardized testing bechmarks.” More information on the college and career readiness indicators can be found at http://www.redefiningready.org. The Illinois State Board of Education is taking public
comment regarding the change at essa(G)isbe.net.
Mr. DeBaene indicated the next steps are to finalize all data points, publish the data points online, refine areas of change, present yearly reporting to the Board, and to review data points regularly.
5. PRESENTATION OF 2015-2016 ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT
Dave McDermott introduced Heidi Hobkirk, Assurance Senior Manager for McGladrey, and Chris Koperich, who conducted the internal financial audit of the District. Ms. Hobkirk congratulated Mr. McDermott and his department for a clean audit. Ms. Hobkirk thanked the Board of Education, Mr. McDermott, and Jennifer O'Hern, District Accountant, for their assistance and a job well done.
Mr. McDermott noted the financial report will be posted online and thanked Ms. O'Hern and the administrators who helped ensure due diligence with the public.
