The Silvis City Council met Nov. 30 to propose amendments.
Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the council:
The ordinance meeting was called to order at 5:35 pm by Chairman Malmstrom. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed amendment to the responsible bidder ordinance.
Clerk Nelson explained the amendment; basically bidder's employees need to have 10 hours of OSHA training and have a program in place to enforce random drug and substance testing. That is an addition to section 8 and 10 of the responsible bidder ordinance.
Committee was in agreement and recommended this ordinance go to the committee of the whole on 6 December 2016 for consideration.
There were no other agenda items and the meeting was adjourned at 5:40pm.
