USDA declares disaster for Illinois counties after July derecho

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has declared a disaster for several Illinois counties affected by a derecho in mid-July. The counties included in this declaration are Marshall, Putnam, and Henry.

This official designation enables farmers in these areas to seek emergency loans provided by the USDA Farm Service Agency. These loans are intended to assist those impacted by the severe weather event.
