Jack Asquini finished his Augustana football career by receiving the team MVP award for the 2016 season, according to the school's athletic website.
The awards were announced Feb. 2 on the site.
Asquini, a senior from Arlington Heights, Illinois, had a team-high 112 tackles — 14 of which were for loss of yards — and 4½ sacks.
Other awards went to Danny Lattner, a senior wide receiver from Riverside, Illinois, who was named Offensive Player of the Year; Frank Kalble, a senior safety from Arlington Heights, who earned the Defensive Player of the Year honor; and junior kicker Jacob Stytz of Channahon, Illinois, who took home the Special Teams Player of the Year award.
Also, senior defensive lineman Michael Daniels of Geneseo, Illinois, claimed the Jerry Freck Inspiration Award.
Rookie awards went to freshman running back Bobby Jarosz of Prospect, Illinois, for Offensive Rookie of the Year, and to freshman defensive lineman Daniel Tjaden of Bettendorf, Iowa, for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
