Rapids City ranked 108th in state in lottery ticket sales

The village of Rapids City had the 108th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of July 2016 -- up 87 spots from its June ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Rapids City was $36.09 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Rock Island Today, Rapids City generated $34,939.50 in net sales from its two lottery retailers in July 2016, compared to $42,507 in July 2015.


The village of Rapids City is in Rock Island County, and has a population of 968, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Port Byron.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in July 2016 was $19,846.67.
