The Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau (QCCVB) recently opened its bike rental season, offering a range of bike sizes, including children’s bikes, that can be rented by the hour, half-day or day to explore the area’s riverfront trails.
“The bike paths are an excellent way to explore both sides of the river in the Quad Cities,” Jessica Waytenick, QCCVB's public relations and marketing manager said. “Currently, we are the only organization renting bicycles in the Quad Cities.”
Offered in partnership with TREK Bicycle Store in Davenport, Iowa, bike rentals include a helmet, lock and bottle of water. Fees begin at $8 per hour, with a half-day priced at $28 and a full day at $40. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to rent a bike.
Bike rentals are available at the Visitor Center at Union Station in Davenport and the Visitor Center & Gift Shop on River Drive in Moline, Illinois. Both centers are located on bike paths for easy access.
The paths themselves offer a range of lengths and scenery, including the Great River Trail, a 60-mile path in Illinois, and the Duck Creek Trail, a 10.5-mile path in Iowa.
