Jobapplication 1000x667

Sen. Neil Anderson (R-Rock Island) and Rep. Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) will host a free job fair from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 16 at the Scottish Rite in Moline, according to a press release.

Workshops will focus on interviewing, networking and writing resumes. Attendees should bring resumes to give to employers at the event.

"From the very beginning, it has been my goal to make sure that the people of the 36th Senate District have access to good paying jobs," Anderson said in the news release. "I'm proud to have supported policies in Springfield to make that possible, and am excited to offer this jobs fair to give people an idea of the opportunities that are out there in our district."

More than 40 employers are expected.

McCombie called the fair a good opportunity for job seekers around the Quad Cities to connect with employers.

“The jobs fair is a tool we are making available to constituents to help make Illinois a better place to live, work and raise a family,” McCombie said in the news release. “We must take the initiative to make Illinois a growth state and this is a way we can help to grow our local economy.”

The Scottish Rite is located at 1800 Seventh Avenue.
