The Rock Island County Republican Party is inviting area residents to come to its annual Ronald Reagan barbecue on Sept. 17 at the Pinnacle Country Club in Milan, according to the group's website.
The event will feature a barbecue-style buffet, a white elephant sale, outdoor games for all ages and speakers, who will be announced at a later date. Tickets for the event are $15 for attendees over 13 and $35 for families, consisting of two adults and children under 13 years old. Children 5 and younger are free.
The buffet will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. and will feature hamburgers and hot dogs with toppings, as well as sides like baked beans, pasta salad and potato salad. The Republican Women of Rock Island will be providing desserts. Speeches are set to begin at 3 p.m.
Those interested in attending the event can purchase their tickets by sending a check to the Rock Island County GOP headquarters or pay online via credit or debit card by visiting the group’s website at www.ricogop.org.
