Rock Island County Republicans are throwing their support behind Rep. Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton) in her run against Gov. Bruce Rauner in the Republican primary.
“She might have a more likely impact on Illinois voters who are fed up with the (House Speaker Mike) Madigan machine, high property taxes and corruption," the Rock Island County Republican Party posted on Facebook. “Ives for Illinois ... a conservative Republican graduate from West Point, believes in Right for Life ... against Sanctuary State.”
If elected, Ives has vowed to restore fiscal responsibility to Springfield, re-earning the faith and trust of disgruntled voters along the way.
Ives earn her even more points with the GOP group by naming former Rock Island County Board member Rich Morthland as her running mate.
Morthland is a conservative that believes like Jeanne Ives, the organization added in its Facebook post.
