City of East Moline Park Board met February 13.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

Stombaugh called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm in the East Moline City Hall Annex.

Roll Call

Present: Ald. Almblade, C.Braggs, E. Gay, D. Kannenberg, M. Spencer, B.Stombaugh,

Absent: R. Cervantes, K. Layman, G. Lowery,

Guests: None

Secretary’s Report: Motion to approve January minutes made by Spencer, Seconded by Kannenberg. All

          in favor, motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report: None

Reports from Partnering Organizations: None.

Old Business

     1) Update on Adult Softball League Contract:

           • Lambrecht reviewed the equipment that Arvanis wanted to sell for $2000.00 and advised

              Mayor to purchase. Mayor proceeded with authorization.

          • Included in purchase:

               o Tractor with drag (body & engine reworked last year)

               o 4 wheel chalk machine (excellent condition)

               o 4 wheel striper (new)

               o 3 sets of adult bases (new)

               o 1 home plate (new)

               o 1 double first base (new)

               o Several rakes (landscape & garden) plus push brooms

               o Set of adult and a set of junior Olympic bases (very used) for each diamond

               o 2 wheel chalk machine (used)

               o Used nets for dugouts

     2) Action Plan on bringing back EMYB (Little League)

          • Mayor scrapped idea for flier and wanted to have townhall meeting at Glenview Library.

             Mayor to redo flier for meeting and use school system “phone Blast” to get peoples attention.

             Scheduled March 3rd at 9:00am

          • Stombaugh reported meeting with Mayor and Marcus from Director of LL (Little League).

             Suggested partenering up to play at both fields this summer. Need to petition LL association

             to bring back charter to EM. Need to be ready and all in place by Sept 1 for the 2019 season,

          • Stombaugh also reported 10 Board of Directors with child in league are needed.

          • Depending on what response is before making next step.

     Motion to adjourn meeting made by Braggs, seconded by Spencer, All in favor, motion passed.
