Report: Silvis spent $8,853 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Silvis School District 34 is down 5 percent from five years ago, according to a Rock Island Today analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Rock Island County school district spent $9,351 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,853 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 607 to 661.

Silvis's spending in 2016-17 was 32 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
