Kewanee City Fire Department responded to 103 calls in 2017 - 15.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Kewanee City included 46 fires - 18 structure fires, nine vehicle fires and 19 other fires.

In all, the department saw $469,201 in fire loss - or about $10,200 per fire.

The department also received 57 false calls, including two malicious calls and 55 other false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related injuries.
