Rock Island star guard JaMir Price has committed to attend Bradley University.
Price said he decided to join the Braves after making two visits to the campus and falling in love with the atmosphere around campus.
“It was a long process and I just felt comfortable there,” Price told Dispatch-Argus. “They made me feel like I belong. That was my first offer, but I had a few other D1 schools coming to visit this week.”
Price is set to officially sign in November and rejoiced in knowing things will now return to normal.
“This is a big relief,” he said. “I didn’t want to have all the stress during the season. I wanted to put this behind me and just think about winning games for the Rocks.”
At Bradley, Price said he is excited about the chance to play in Coach Brian Wardle’s offense.
“They told me they want to push the ball and that is where I am most comfortable,” he said. “I like to get out in transition and I like to have the ball in my hands in transition.”
Price, who recently lost his mother, said he is happy to be fulfilling one of the goals they set for him together.
“I’m sure my mom is really proud of me right now,” he said. “I have accomplished a goal we had. I just wish she could be here to see me play in college.”
