Quad Cities Chamber recently issued the following announcement.
History buffs and travel enthusiasts will soon discover the Netherlands’ lowland provinces, explore the East African safari, journey across Canada and find more revelations with the return of the Putnam’s World Adventure Series — a series of monthly travel documentaries in the Putnam’s GIANT Screen Theater, starting Tuesday, Oct. 9.
“Guests fascinated by culture and history can travel the world without digging into their life savings. This series allows you to learn about numerous places around the globe and hear from filmmakers who have documented their incredible encounters,” said Kim Findlay, Putnam president and CEO. “The World Adventure Series lets visitors bring out their inner adventurer each month as they connect with other cultures’ way of life. Then a person can determine where they truly most want to travel during their lifetime.”
Tickets are on sale now for the World Adventure Series kick off on Oct. 9, featuring showings of “Discovering the Dutch” at 2 and 6 p.m. The screenings feature a talk by filmmaker Sandy Mortimer before and after the film.
The cost for complete series passes is $40 for adults or $35 for adult Putnam members, and $35 for youth (age 3-18) or $30 for youth members.
Individual documentary tickets can also be purchased for $9 for adults, $8 for students/seniors/military and $8 for youth. Putnam members receive $1 off ticket prices.
The 2018-19 World Adventure Series includes the following showings:
