Republican lawmaker Daniel Dan Swanson prides himself on always being willing to go the extra mile for his constituents.
During a recent outbreak of cold and snowy weather, Swanson, state representative for the 74th District, was again ready to spring into action.
“Well, this morning started out helping shovel and pushing out two cars stuck in front of my house. Several others were too far down the ditch or unoccupied to help,” he wrote on Facebook. “Additionally, one semi stuck trying to turn in to the Pilot, a second blocking the road at the intersection of BP, Subway, Dollar General and plaza; a third was blocking the driveway to the plaza. It appeared several semis and trailers stuck within the Pilot parking lot. Thanks to all the crews out today, helping to make our travels possible.”
Later that morning, Swanson seemed able to finally exhale after all his hard work.
“Cars are still crawling by this morning,” he added. “Thanks also to Mark Lawson, Phillip Wirt, Howard Streeter and Wade Carlson for all their help.”
The 74th district includes Mercer, Henry, Knox, Bureau and Lee counties in western Illinois.
