South Moline Township Board of Trustee met November 20.
Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:
Present — Tracy Best, Supervisor; Andrea Anderson, Trustee; Brian Forsberg, Trustee; Bob Schultz, Road Commissioner; and Rob Vyncke, Clerk. Absent: Rick Mellinger, Assessor; Lisa Griffin, Trustee; and Mark Lundahl, Trustee.
Meeting Called to Order — Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Supervisor Best.
Pledge of Allegiance
Approval of Minutes — Motion by Anderson, second by Forsberg, that we approve the minutes of November 07, 2018. Motion carried, with all voting in favor.
Officials' Reports —
a. Road Commissioner — Work for the big culvert project has started. The old ones are out. We encountered a gas line which will have to be reworked. We are waiting on MidAmerican. After the gas line is corrected, it should take another 2-3 weeks until the project will be done.
b. Assessor — None
c. Clerk — None
d. Trustees — None
e. Cemetery — We are still looking for a replacement for the Cemetery Board.
f. Seniors — We are getting ready for the Christmas party.
g. Youth — None
Supervisor's Report —
a. Best presented the 2019 Holiday Schedule which matches the county. After some brief discussion, there was a motion by Anderson that the schedule be approved. Second by Forsberg. All ayes. Motion carried.
b. Best presented the 2019 Meeting Schedule. There was a motion by Anderson to approve the schedule with changing February 06, to February 05. Second by Forsberg. All ayes. Motion carried.
c. Best presented the revised tax levy and explained the different line item changes while pointing out that the bottom line stays the same. All were asked to review this, as we will have to vote on it at the next meeting.
d. Bus Passes: Best asked for board approval to proceed with a program to provide bus passes to the needy. Best explained that we have a line item in the budget for this and it would be a very good thing to do. The cost is $30.00 for a monthly pass. All agreed it would be a good idea. Best will work on some guidelines for the program.
