The price of local government in 2017: Village of Cambridge

The Village of Cambridge budget was $2.42 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $2,892 per household.

That's an increase of 28.1 percent from 2016, when the village spent $1.89 million, or $2,257 per household.

Cambridge has 836 households and a population of 2,168.

Since 2001, the Village of Cambridge budget has grown by 45 percent, from $1.67 million. The village population has fallen 1.5 percent over the same period, from 2,200.

Salaries accounted for 14.9 percent of village spending in 2017. Cambridge property taxpayers paid $360,986 for seven full-time employees and 12 part-time employees.
