Illinois City home prices fall in the second half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2017 in Illinois City fell by $55,250 while total sales remained unchanged with eight homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2017, there were eight homes sold, with a median sale price of $97,500 - a 36.2% decrease over the $152,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were eight homes sold in Illinois City in the second half of 2016, as well.

The median sales tax in Illinois City for 2017 was $3,004. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,091. This marks an decrease of 2.8%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 3.1%.
