Hampton home prices fall in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Hampton fell by $26,300 while total sales increased by 35.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 42 homes sold, with a median sale price of $118,700 - a 18.1% decrease over the $145,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 31 homes sold in Hampton in 2016.

The median sales tax in Hampton for 2017 was $3,057. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,091. This marks an decrease of 1.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.6%.
