City of Moline Fire Department Foreign Fire Tax Board met June 11.

1. Meeting Call to Order
Chairman Scott Houzenga called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m.
2. Member Roll Call

3. Approval of Minutes
A. Minutes of the April 9, 2019 Meeting
Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Kendall, seconded by Lieutenant Scott Houzenga, made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 9, 2019 meeting. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
4. Reports
A. Treasurer’s Report
Engineer Brett Daniel reported that there is a current balance of $46,958.07; $23,266.93 has been spent year to date and the education fund has a balance of $3,531.06. Deputy Chief Steve Regenwether, seconded by Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Kendall, made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report provided by Engineer Brett Daniel. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
5. Old Business
A. Moline Fire Department Buttons for Class A Uniforms
Lieutenant Jim VanVooren reported that the button order arrived at the Uniform Den yesterday and therefore the invoice has not been sent or paid. As the amount will be more than was approved at the April meeting, this discussion will be tabled until the next meeting after the invoice has been received.
6. New Business
Nominations for Special Positions – Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary
Fire Chief Jeff Snyder, seconded by Deputy Chief Steve Regenwether, made a motion to re-elect Lieutenant Scott Houzenga as the Chairman. Lieutenant Scott Houzenga, seconded by Fire Chief Snyder, made a motion to elect Lieutenant Jim VanVooren as the Chairman. Lieutenant Jim VanVooren was elected as the new Chairman with a final vote of 3 to 2. Motion passed.
Deputy Chief Steve Regenwether, seconded by Lieutenant Scott Houzenga, made a motion to re-elect Engineer Brett Daniel as the Treasurer. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
Lieutenant Jim VanVooren, seconded by Engineer Brett Daniel, made a motion to re-elect Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Kendall as the Secretary. All in favor. Motion passed.
7. Reimbursements
A. No requests for reimbursements were submitted since the April 9, 2019 meeting.
8. Requests All Stations
A. Engineer Brett Daniel, seconded by Lieutenant Jim VanVooren, made a motion to approve the purchase of duty polo shirts, subject to Administration review and development of an appropriate policy of said shirt, in the amount of $2,640.00. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
Central
A. Deputy Chief Regenwether, seconded by Lieutenant Jim VanVooren, made a motion to approve the purchase
of kitchen chair foot pads in the amount of $25.00. Motion passed with Aye’s 5, Nay’s 1.
B. Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Kendall, seconded by Deputy Chief Regenwether, made a motion to approve the
purchase of bowls in the amount of $108.00. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
C. Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Kendall, seconded by Fire Chief Snyder, made a motion to approve the purchase
of cutting boards in the amount of $45.00. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
D. Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Kendall, seconded by Fire Chief Snyder, made a motion to approve the purchase
of spoons in the amount of $36.00. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
E. Fire Chief Snyder, seconded by Lieutenant Jim VanVooren, made a motion to approve the purchase of a can opener in the amount of $30.00. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
Station 4
A. Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Kendall, seconded by Engineer Brett Daniel, made a motion to approve the purchase of a cordless power drill in the amount of $99.00. Motion passed with Aye’s 5, Nay’s 1.
B. Engineer Brett Daniel, seconded by Deputy Chief Regenwether, made a motion to approve the purchase of a drill and screwdriver bit set for drill in the amount of $30.00. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
9. Other Business
There was no other business discussed.
10. Adjournment
Fire Chief Snyder, seconded by Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Kendall, made a motion to adjourn at 8:42 a.m. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
