Village of Carbon Cliff Board of Trustees met Nov. 5.

5. Village President’s Agenda:
a. Motion to authorize Village Clerk, Karen Hopkins to execute a renewal with Blue Cross/Blue Shield for the Village Employee’s Health Insurance with monthly premium of $5,240.52. (THIS IS A DECREASE OF $252.78 PER MONTH FROM LAST YEAR. POLICY PERIOD: 12/1/2019 TO 11/30/2020)
b. Motion to approve a quote from Bonnell Industries Inc., to purchase (4) 18” spinner discs, (4) Spinner Hubs, and (1) Western Snow Plow Blade for a total cost of $907.80.
c. Motion to approve a quote from Alvarado Plumbing Inc., to excavate and expose the underground connection for the existing hydrants, remove old fire hydrants, install the new fire hydrants, install thrust blocking to the backside of each hydrant, and backfill the trench. All materials will be supplied by the Village with the exception of the thrusting block, which will be supplied by the plumbing contractor. Quoted price per hydrant is $2,500.00. Total to complete (5) five hydrants this fall will be $12,500.00.
d. Motion to adopt Resolution No. 2019-02 “Resolution Setting Forth The Compensation Packages For Full-Time Employees Of The Village Of Carbon Cliff.”
e. Presentation of tentative 2019 levy figures. (2019 taxes paid in 2020) Determination of truth in taxation act, and setting of truth in taxation hearing, if needed.
f. Motion to set Public Hearing on the Tax Levy for Fiscal Year January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2020, for 7:00 p.m. on November 19, 2019 and to give notice of this hearing in publication in the Dispatch at least one week prior to the time of the hearing.
6. Correspondence:
a. Letter dated October 21, 2019 from the Illinois Department of Transportation. There will be deck patching, expansion joint replacement, concrete overlay, and painting structural steel on the IL 5/IL 92 bridge (overpass). Project is tentatively scheduled for the January 17, 2020 contract letting. Any costs involved with the relocation of the village owned utilities that are in conflict with the department’s improvement project shall be relocated at the cost of the village of Carbon Cliff. The department will assume all other costs for construction and engineering.
