QUAD CITIES CONVENTION AND VISITORS CENTER: PSCW Spring Snapshot Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring!

Water106

Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Center recently issued the following announcement.

Register now for the Spring Snapshot Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Event! This is your opportunity to become a citizen scientist for the day and gather important data about the health of Scott County’s watersheds. The valuable data gathered by volunteers will assist PSCW in raising funds for water quality improvement projects in the county. No experience is necessary, and anyone over 16 is welcome to participate!

Volunteers will meet at Davenport Public Works to be trained to perform simple tests in the field to measure water quality. Then, volunteers will be divided into groups and assigned to 5-7 sites in Scott County to collect data. All materials will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear clothing that can get wet and/or muddy (long pants/sleeves, waterproof shoes or rain boots, hats, sunscreen, and bug spray). Wearing a mask is highly encouraged. This event will happen rain or shine. Volunteers will return at noon for a FREE pizza lunch and FREE t-shirts!

Registration required at http://xstreamcleanup.org/event/spring-snapshot-volunteer-water-quality-monitoring-542021. Please email info@partnersofscottcountywatersheds.org with any questions.
