City of Moline Board of Fire & Police Commissioners met April 13.

Meeting Called to Order
Chairperson Ford called the meeting to order at 4:31 p.m.
Roll Call of Members
Roll call performed; Chairperson Ford and Commissioner Nelson present, Commissioner Flowers absent.
Approval of Minutes
Commissioner Nelson made a motion to approve the March 9, 2021 Regular Meeting Minutes; Chairperson Ford seconded; roll call vote performed, motion unanimously carried.

Fire: Probationary Appointment of Firefighter/Paramedic
Chief Snyder requested the Commission approve the Probationary Appointment of Firefighter/Paramedic Noah Vyncke, number nine-ranked candidate on the Firefighter/Paramedic Eligibility Register. The Moline Police Department has completed the pre-employment background investigation and all pre-employment conditions have been successfully met. Commissioner Nelson made a motion to approve the Probationary Appointment of Firefighter/Paramedic Noah Vyncke effective April 26, 2021, Chairperson Ford seconded; roll call vote performed, motion unanimously carried.
Police Retirement: Lt. Michael Hutton
Chief Gault advised the Commission that Lieutenant Michael Hutton has submitted his letter of intent to retire dated April 7, 2021, effective at the end of his final shift on June 8, 2021. Lt. Hutton will retire with 29 years of service to the City of Moline. Lt. Hutton intends to utilize accrued leave prior to his retirement date, making his last working day May 21, 2021. Chief Gault requested the Commission approve the retirement of Lt. Michael Hutton. Chairperson Ford made a motion to approve the retirement of Lt. Michael Hutton as presented, Commissioner Nelson seconded; roll call vote performed, motion unanimously carried.
Police Resignation: Ofc. Jeffrey Leonhardt
Chief Gault advised the Commission that Officer Jeffrey Leonhardt has submitted his letter of intent to resign dated April 3, 2021, effective at the end of his final shift on May 24, 2021. Ofc. Leonhardt has served the citizens of Moline for the past 4 years. Chief Gault requested the Commission approve the resignation of Ofc. Jeffrey Leonhardt. Commissioner Nelson made a motion to approve the resignation of Officer Jeffrey Leonhardt as presented, Chairperson Ford seconded; roll call vote performed, motion unanimously carried.
Other Business
Discussion was held regarding the need for a Special Meeting for the purpose of Police Department Probationary Appointments following successful pre-employment checks but prior to the anticipated start date of May 3, 2021. Commission agreed that Friday, April 30th at a time to-be-determined would work well.

With no further business to discuss, Commissioner Nelson made a motion to adjourn; Chairperson Ford seconded; meeting adjourned at 4:38 p.m.
