How long did Moline inventors wait for patents granted in week ending Aug. 14?

Patent 15

The longest time between a patent being filed and granted in the week ending Aug. 14 in Moline was 1,197 days, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The patent application was filed by Deere & Company for a return pan grain presentation to a sensor. It was filed on May 1, 2018 before being approved on Aug. 10, 2021.

Though patents are required for inventions and products, the granting of a patent is not a guarantee for success. Dennis Crouch, co-director of the Center for Intellectual Property & Entrepreneurship said roughly 50 percent of patents expire prematurely due to costs.

There were six patents granted for Moline inventors in the week ending Aug. 14.
