City of Geneseo Plan Commission Met June 2.

The Plan Commission of the City of Geneseo was called to order at 5:30 PM, in the Council Chambers, with the following members present:

PLAN COMMISSION PRESENT:

Plan Commission Joe Bedford, Plan Commission Rhonda Ludwig, Plan Commission Morgan Thurman, and Plan Commission Julia McAvoy

PLAN COMMISSION ABSENT:

Plan Commission Paula Buysse

STAFF PRESENT: City Admin JoAnn Hollenkamp and Building Inspector Rick Mills

PUBLIC PRESENT:

3 Public Comment

City Ordinance allows members of the Public to speak and give input up to 3 minutes during Public Comment, there can be no debate or action by the City Council at this time.

4 Approval of Meeting Minutes

4.1. Approval of previous Plan Committee Minutes

Julia McAvoy moved, seconded by Rhonda Ludwig, Approval of the previous Plan Committee Minutes as presented.

5 Public Hearing

5.1. Open the Public Hearing

Rhonda Ludwig moved, seconded by Julia McAvoy, Motion to open the public hearing.

5.2. Discussion of Beck Oil Company for an addition of 19' x 22' to their existing structure.

5.3. Discussion of Dollar Fresh expansion of old Save a Lot store.

5.4. Close the Public Hearing

Julia McAvoy moved, seconded by Morgan Thurman, Motion to close the public hearing.

6 Administration

6.1. Discussion of Beck Oil Company for an addition of 19' x 22' to their existing structure.

There was concern by Julia and Morgan that the entrances to Beck and Dollar Fresh may cause a traffic jam due to the expansions of each building. Jo explained that these are two separate parcels and that each building meets the setback requirements by the City.

Rhonda Ludwig moved, seconded by Joe Bedford, Motion to recommend to City Council to approve the permit application from Beck Oil for the building expansion.

6.2. Discussion of Dollar Fresh expansion of old Save a Lot store.

Group reviewed the expansion and discussed the type of store and relevant traffic. Julia McAvoy moved, seconded by Morgan Thurman, Motion to recommend to the city council approval for the addition to the building.
