City of East Moline Special Service Area Committee met June 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Roll Call: SSA – Adam Guthrie, Michelle Horton, Martin Corey, Larry Anderson, Terry Westbrook, and Patricia Hansen (SSA & Main Street). Absent John Stopoulos

City – Mayor Freeman, Doug Maxeiner, Jayne O’Brien and Annaka Whiting

Approval of Minutes: Michelle motions, second from Martin minutes for May approved, with the change motion to adjourn was made by John not Larry.

Guest: none present

Financial Report – Annaka gave the financials Larry motions to accept with a second from Patricia May financials approved. June 1st distributions will start coming in soon.

Façade/Fencing Program – Andrew VanHoe is working on his building, John has yet to turn in his paperwork, Adam is working with The Keg regarding questions for their application.

Bills – Adam Guthrie: Patricia’s bill was for 3 months to catch up on payments. Michelle for Respect Abilities was also short one payment per Annaka Motion from Terry and a second from Larry bills are approved to be paid. 1/3 of the Miller for Runner’s Park was approved for payment also with a motion from Larry and a second from Martin.

Directors Report – Adam:

∙ Noise Ordinance – We were advised by Doug that it is being updated as per City Council and will go back to Council soon.

∙ Zoning - was discussed both for Adam's building on the corner of 7th St & 15th Avenue and zoning regarding dispensaries.

∙ Banners – Hoping to be up before July 4th.

Flower Report – Michelle Horton – Flowers are doing very well this year, lots of compliments. Runner’s Park rules were discussed pertaining to rental issue, confetti and silly string should be added as prohibited items.

Main Street Report – Patricia Hansen: The City, Joe for the Run and Patricia will be representing all things East Moline on Living Local June 25th. Attendance at events is up, some additional donations have been made for Main Street to help with community outreach.

Runner’s Park lighting project – Steel is to be delivered the 25th Still holding out hope for it to be done soon.

What is our next project? – the lot across from Runner’s Park was mentioned, The Commons, and concrete at Runner’s Park in front of the stage.
