Report: Rock Island School District spent $13,173 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Rock Island School District 41 was up 24.9 percent from five years ago, according to the Rock Island Today analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Rock Island County school district spent $10,548 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,173 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 6,767 to 6,270 students over the same period.

Rock Island's spending in 2019-20 was 9.1 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
