Illinois State Rep. Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) wants to highlight the people and places within the 71st District through the eyes of her constituents via a picture contest hosted by her office.
McCombie announced the Spring Photo Contest on her website on May 19.
"I love this district," she said in a news release. "Nature's beauty is unmatched and the people are wonderful. I am always proud to show off the 71st District. Help me share that pride by submitting your photos so that together we can show the rest of Illinois our magnificence."
People who want to participate are asked to email their high-resolution pictures to mccombiephotocontest@gmail.com, the release said. The photos must be taken in the 71st District sometime between March 20 and June 20. Pictures are due by June 21 and must include the photographer's name, address, email, phone number and where the image was taken. A map of the district is available on the representative's website.
Winning pictures in both the 'People' and 'Places' categories will be displayed in McCombie's offices in Springfield and Sterling, the release said. More information can be obtained by calling her office at (815) 632-7384.
McCombie also recently announced her sixth annual summer reading contest — called the "Reading BUZZ" — for children in the 71st District.
