Illinois state Rep. Dan Swanson (R-Alpha) is speaking out about inflation issues.
Swanson brought up the issue in a recent Facebook post.
"Inflation remains high, and it continues to impact every single person in Illinois who makes a purchase at a store," he said in the post. "As your Representative, I will continue to fight for the families of District 71 by pushing back against reckless spending and forcing unfunded mandates on our businesses, schools or local governments. It's the right thing to do to save families money."
This is not the first time that Swanson has spoken out about the costs of living and doing business in the state.
“Illinois taxpayers are sick of the high gas taxes, property taxes, and inflation costs,” Swanson said on Facebook, quoted by Rock Island Today. “The government doesn't have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem.”
The representative has called on President Joe Biden to do something about the high gas prices.
"Gas prices continue to rise, and Illinois families, farmers and businesses are feeling major pain at the pump," Swanson said in another Facebook post, quoted by Today. "It has become an urgent national concern. That's why I introduced House Resolution 719 which calls upon President Biden and the federal government to halt their current policies and put into place solutions that will lower gas prices and bring America back to energy independence. I will always have the interest of District 71 and my constituents in mind."
Swanson's concerns have not just been about the economy, however. This year, he also urged his constituents to pay attention to their health.
