Q1 2022 Recap: 7 parolees from Henry County convicted of drug crimes set for release

There were seven offenders convicted of drug crimes living in Henry County released on parole during the first quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Rock Island Today.

The data shows six men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes was 42. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old woman sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 74-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Lynn E. Johnson. He was convicted in 2017 when he was 68 years old. He is now 74.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of drug crimes were paroled during the first quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
