NEW BUSINESS
1. Acceptance of Retirement of Lieutenant James Jackson (Steve Regenwether, Fire Chief) Explanation: Lieutenant James Jackson submitted his notice of retirement on May 10, 2023, to be effective June 12, 2023 after 20 years of service.
Staff Recommendation: Staff recommend acceptance of retirement of Lieutenant James Jackson effective June 12, 2023.
2. Approval of Request to Fill Firefighter/Paramedic Vacancy (Steve Regenwether, Fire Chief) Explanation: Due to the retirement of Lieutenant James Jackson on June 12, 2023, a vacancy will be created.
Staff Recommendation: Staff request approval to fill the vacancy with one new Firefighter from the existing Firefighter/Paramedic Eligibility Register.
3. Approval of Promotional Probationary Appointment of Fire Engineer Kory Heston (Steve Regenwether, Fire Chief)
Explanation: Fire Engineer Kory Heston is the next qualified candidate on the certified Fire Lieutenant Eligibility Register.
Staff Recommendation: Due to the retirement of Lieutenant James Jackson effective June 12, 2023, staff recommend the approval of promotional probationary appointment of Fire Engineer Kory Heston to the rank of Lieutenant effective June 18, 2023.
4. Full-time Appointment of Probationary Police Officers Louis Butz and Jenna Robbins (Darren Gault, Police Chief)
Explanation: Probationary Officers Louis Butz and Jenna Robbins have successfully completed their 18-month probationary period.
Staff Recommendation: Staff recommend full-time appointment of Police Officers Louis Butz effective, July 10, 2023, and Jenna Robbins, effective July 12, 2023.
