WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Eric Sorensen spoke before the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs about his bill to help disabled veterans. Sorensen’s Autonomy for All Disabled Veterans Act will extend Home Improvements and Structural Alterations (HISA) grants to veterans with disabilities to build or modify homes to fit their needs.
“We all owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women who served our country honorably. And that means making sure our veterans have access to health care, employment, and housing when they return home. On July 6,2023, I would especially like to call attention to the importance of ensuring the homes of veterans with disabilities are safe, accessible, and comfortable,” Sorensen said in his remarks before the Committee.
