Last week, an opportunity arose to engage in a discussion with the Future Leaders of the pork industry. The meeting also included representatives from the Illinois Department of Agriculture and the Illinois Pork Producers’ Association. The conversation revolved around various aspects of the pork industry, its impact on the Illinois economy, and strategies to bolster pork production in the state. As the sole hog producer serving in the General Assembly, these interactions with young leaders who are steering the Illinois pork industry are always valued.
