A scam prevention seminar is scheduled to take place in Galesburg on Monday afternoon. The event is a collaborative effort between Carl Sandburg College and F&M Bank, aimed at educating the public on how to identify and respond to financial scams.
In recent years, many individuals have been targeted by scammers attempting to steal money or access personal information. These scams vary in complexity, from simple frauds like charging for unperformed services to elaborate schemes involving overseas actors siphoning thousands from bank accounts.
The seminar will be held at 1 p.m. in the Galesburg Library Community Room, located at 264 W. Main Street. It is designed as an informational session open to the public, with a focus on helping attendees recognize potential scams before falling victim to them.
Attendees are encouraged to participate and gain valuable insights into protecting themselves against fraudulent activities.
