City of Geneseo City Council met Oct. 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The Special City Council of the City of Geneseo was called to order on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 6:00 PM, in the Council Chambers, with the following members present:

COUNCIL PRESENT: Council Bob James, Council Craig Arnold, Mayor Sean Johnson, Council Martin Rothschild, Council Paula Simosky, Council Keith Kennett, and Alderman Kent Swanson

COUNCIL ABSENT: Council Brett Barnhart and Alderman James Roodhouse

STAFF PRESENT: Director of Finance Jamie Matthews, City Administrator Brandon Maeglin, Director of IT Garrett Griswold, Attorney Derke Price, Deputy Chief of Police Kondon Karzin, Chief of Police Casey Disterhoft, Director of Public Works Chad VandeWoestyne, Building Inspector Rick Mills, and City Clerk Paige Seibel

PUBLIC PRESENT:

Meeting began at 6:43 pm

2 Public Comment - Agenda Items

City Ordinance allows members of the Public to speak and give input up to 3 minutes during Public Comment, there can be no debate or action by the City Council at this time.

None

3 Administration

3.1. Approval of the 2025 Budget

No further discussion was had.

Craig Arnold moved, seconded by Kent Swanson, Motion to approve O-24- 14.

RESULT: Carried

AYES: Bob James, Craig Arnold, Martin Rothschild, Paula Simosky, Keith Kennett, and Kent Swanson

ABSENT: Brett Barnhart and James Roodhouse

3.2. Approval of Purchase & Sale Agreement for Parcels 0821207002 & 0821207003

No further discussion was had.

Craig Arnold moved, seconded by Martin Rothschild, Motion to approve the purchase and sale agreement for the sale of parcels 0821207002 & 0821207003 to Today's Builders, allowing the City Attorney to proceed with closing the transaction per the terms of the agreement.

RESULT: Carried

3.3. O-24-18: R-2 to R-3 CUD Zoning Classification Change for 735 & 737 Dilenbeck Drive

Maeglin stated that if passed, this would allow the R-2 to R-3 change and would enable the current owners to sell as condominiums.

Craig Arnold moved, seconded by Paula Simosky, Motion to approve O-24- 18.

3.4. Approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness in the Historical District - 126, 124, 122, & 120 E. 1st Street

Maeglin informed the council that if approved, this would permit the owners of Local Motive to paint the building's exterior black, featuring white trim and gold accents, as well as to construct a patio in the back of the building.

Craig Arnold moved, seconded by Kent Swanson, Motion to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness in the Historical District for facade changes to 126, 124, 122, & 120 E. 1st Street.

RESULT: Carried
