Disqualification / Refusal to Examine Applicants (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)
NEW BUSINESS
1. Certification of the Lateral Police Officer Eligibility Register (Leah Madsen, Human Resources Director) Explanation: The Lateral Police Officer Eligibility Register has been compiled with the results of the most recent recruitment testing.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends certifying the Lateral Police Officer Eligibility Register as presented.
2. Police Officer Probationary Appointment (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)
Explanation: Ian Lopez, the number one candidate on the current Lateral Police Officer Eligibility Register has successfully completed his background investigation.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the probationary appointment of Police Officer Ian Lopez, contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements.
3. Police Officer Probationary Appointment (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)
Explanation: Caitlin Short, the number one candidate on the current Police Officer Eligibility Register has successfully completed her background investigation.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the probationary appointment of Police Officer Caitlin Short effective April 28, 2025, contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements.
4. Acceptance of Resignation of Officer Sean Pratt (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)
Explanation: Officer Sean Pratt submitted his notice of resignation on March 20, 2025, with an effective date of April 13, 2025, following five and a half years of service.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends accepting the resignation of Officer Sean Pratt, effective April 13, 2025.
5. Approval of Requests to Fill Vacancy (Darren Gault, Chief of Police)
Explanation: Due to the resignation of Sean Pratt, one vacancy will be created within the department.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval to fill the vacancy with one new Police Officer.
6. Amendments to the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners (Steven Regenwether, Fire Chief)
Explanation: Staff is proposing changes to the current Rules and Regulations of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners to revert back to requiring applicants for Firefighter/Paramedic to provide proof of successful completion of the CPAT prior to the date of the written examination.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends acceptance of the changes to the current Rules and Regulations of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners as presented, pending submission to the City Council for final approval.
